South Jersey Ecotourism
with Director John "Bird-Man" Fox
South Jersey is more than farms, small towns, and backroads. Our forests, wetlands, fields, and waterways are home to an incredible diversity of wildlife - and South Jersey Preservation wants to help people experience it.

Through our Ecotourism Program, SJP is creating opportunities to get outside, explore our region, and learn about the landscapes and wildlife that make South Jersey unique.
​
Leading this effort is John “Bird Man” Fox, Ecotourism Director for South Jersey Preservation.
​
John brings years of hands-on wildlife experience, a background in horticulture, and extensive knowledge of the plants, trees, birds, and animals of our region. He volunteers year-round with Tri-State Bird Rescue and the NJDEP, assisting with wildlife rescue efforts involving owls, hawks, eagles, and other species throughout South Jersey.

Through guided hikes, wildlife and birding walks, seasonal programs, and educational experiences, John will help residents and visitors slow down, look a little closer, and discover the wild side of South Jersey.
