Kickoff and Introduction
Introduction to the Cooperative
We’ll kick off the evening by officially introducing the South Jersey Cattlemen’s Cooperative and the people helping bring it to life. Attendees will meet our Advisory Panel, learn how the initiative is structured, and walk through the different components of the program - from producer education and quality standards to processing, distribution, marketing, and building the South Jersey Beef brand.
We’ll conclude with an open Q&A, giving cattlemen the opportunity to ask questions, share feedback, and help shape the Cooperative as we move forward.
Pasture Health and Grazing
with Grant Harris
Grant Harris is a South Jersey cattleman with deep roots in Salem County agriculture. A member of the Harris family behind Cowtown, Grant brings firsthand experience in cattle production, pasture management, grazing, and the day-to-day realities of operating a working farm. His practical, producer-focused perspective makes him a valuable resource for cattlemen looking to improve pasture performance, herd nutrition, and overall beef quality.

At the South Jersey Cattlemen’s Cooperative kickoff, Grant will lead a discussion on pasture management and grazing nutrition, helping producers better understand how decisions made in the field can influence animal performance and the quality of the finished product.

Large Animal Nutrition
with Evertt Hooper, PhD
Everett Hooper, PhD, founder of Edge Nutrition LLC, brings expertise in large-animal nutrition, feed management, and animal health. His work focuses on helping producers better understand how feeding strategies and nutritional decisions influence animal performance, health, efficiency, and the quality of the finished product.

At the South Jersey Cattlemen’s Cooperative kickoff, Dr. Hooper will discuss bovine feed, nutrition, and health, providing practical insight producers can use to strengthen herd performance and support the Cooperative’s goal of raising consistently high-quality South Jersey beef.

Support the South Jersey Cattlemen’s Cooperative
Everything we do through South Jersey Preservation is made possible through community support and donations. Sponsorship of the South Jersey Cattlemen’s Cooperative helps directly offset the costs of event and meeting space, educational and printed materials, communication tools, and other resources needed to connect and support our cattlemen.

Your support allows us to keep building these programs while making education, resources, and opportunities as accessible as possible to our local producers.
