South Jersey Cattlemen’s Cooperative: Raising the Standard
Join us on October 8 for the official kickoff of the South Jersey Cattlemen’s Cooperative, a farmer-driven initiative focused on strengthening the beef industry in South Jersey and creating greater opportunities for local cattle producers.
We’ll begin the evening with an introduction to the Cooperative, including our vision for South Jersey Beef, producer education, regional quality standards, local processing, distribution and marketing opportunities, and how cattlemen can get involved as we build the program.
The evening will also feature two educational sessions focused on one of the Cooperative’s first priorities: helping producers consistently raise high-quality beef.
Grant Harris will lead a discussion on pasture and grazing management, including practical strategies for improving forage quality, pasture productivity, and overall herd performance.
Everett Hopper, PhD will follow with a session on bovine nutrition, exploring how nutrition and feeding decisions influence animal performance, finishing, marbling, flavor,…

Join us for the official launch of the South Jersey Cattlemen’s Cooperative, featuring an introduction to the initiative, educational sessions on pasture management and bovine nutrition, producer networking, and an open Q&A with our speakers and industry experts. Doors open at 4:30 PM for check-in and networking. The program begins promptly at 5:00 PM.
