Coombs Barnyard, located at 20 Route 77 in Elmer, Salem County, NJ, is a cherished tenth-generation family farm operated by Amanda Coombs. As the owner and visionary behind its agritourism evolution, Amanda has built on centuries-old roots to create an authentic, hands-on farm experience that draws families from across the region.

The farm specializes in educational and fun activities, including Agri-Ventures field trips (perfect for schools, homeschoolers, scouts, and groups from April to October), birthday parties, summer farm camps, animal encounters, seasonal events like pumpkin patches, harvest celebrations, and intricate corn mazes. Visitors enjoy interacting with friendly animals while learning about real farming life in a welcoming, rustic setting.
A major recent addition is the new barn, designed as a versatile and elegant event venue with a large central hall, heat, air conditioning, bathrooms, entryway, anteroom, and a full kitchen. This modern yet charming space hosts private events, weddings, celebrations, reunions, and community gatherings, allowing guests to celebrate milestones amid the farm’s scenic backdrop.

One of Coombs Barnyard’s beloved annual traditions is the Tractor Parade, held on Small Business Saturday (most recently on November 29, 2025). This festive event kicks off the holiday season with a parade of decorated tractors, a special visit from Santa Claus, and opportunities for post-parade snacks, crafts for kids and adults, and canned goods collection for local donations. The Tractor Parade highlights community spirit and local farming pride.

Amanda’s passion for community shines through her collaborations with local businesses. She organizes events like the popular Girls Day on the Farm, a farm-hopping experience that connects participants with multiple South Jersey farms (such as Copper Knoll Farms during lavender season), fostering creativity, connection, and support for regional producers. Her involvement as an Executive Sponsor and panelist in the 2026 South Jersey Farmers Summit further demonstrates her dedication to supporting South Jersey’s agricultural community, sharing insights on sustaining family farms and boosting the local agricultural economy.
Through these efforts, Amanda not only preserves her family’s heritage but also champions Salem County small businesses and South Jersey farmers, creating opportunities for collaboration and growth.
