For you, Farmers

Everything we build starts with one question: Does this help our farmers succeed?

South Jersey Preservation was created to strengthen the agricultural backbone of our region - not through talk, but through infrastructure, partnerships, regulatory reform, and real economic opportunity.

This page outlines the initiatives, outcomes, and strategic work currently in motion; all designed with one goal in mind: protecting, growing, and sustaining family farms in South Jersey.

So Farmers, this is for you <3

Business Growth

The Local Table Network is a regional B2B sourcing initiative designed to connect South Jersey farmers directly with restaurants, chefs, and institutional buyers. Built as a direct outcome of the South Jersey Farmers Summit, the network strengthens farm-to-restaurant relationships, increases market visibility, and keeps more food dollars circulating within our local economy.

By shortening the supply chain and removing unnecessary middle layers, this initiative helps growers retain control, improve profitability, and build long-term, reliable partnerships across the region.

Local Infastructure

South Jersey Preservation has established an Agricultural Advisory Commission to address structural and infrastructure-related challenges impacting our regional farm economy. This commission brings together industry leaders and subject matter experts to evaluate barriers, identify strategic opportunities, and develop practical solutions that strengthen agricultural viability.

The focus is clear: increase market access, improve profitability, expand processing and distribution capacity, and create sustainable job growth throughout South Jersey’s agricultural sector.

Regulatory Reform

South Jersey Preservation established a Red Tape Commission to systematically review agricultural regulations impacting small and moderate-sized farms across our region. The commission works to identify unnecessary burdens, outdated requirements, and structural inefficiencies that limit farm growth and profitability.

By bringing farmers, subject matter experts, and legislative partners into direct conversation, we are developing practical, farmer-informed recommendations aimed at improving clarity, reducing compliance strain, and creating a more supportive regulatory environment. The goal is simple: ensure that policies designed to protect agriculture do not unintentionally prevent farms from thriving.

Workshops

South Jersey Preservation is developing targeted workshops and industry networking sessions designed to foster collaboration, skill-building, and strategic growth. These gatherings connect farmers directly with subject matter experts, buyers, policymakers, and fellow producers in focused, solution-oriented environments.

Topics range from regulatory education and market development to operational efficiency and value-added opportunities - all designed to deliver practical insight, meaningful connections, and real support for farm businesses across South Jersey.

2026 Farmers Summit

The South Jersey Farmers Summit is our flagship annual gathering bringing together farmers, industry leaders, and policymakers for focused, solution-driven conversations about the future of South Jersey agriculture.

The 2026 Summit moved beyond discussion and into action. It directly led to the launch of the Local Table Network, the formation of an Agricultural Advisory Commission, the establishment of a Red Tape Commission to review regulatory burdens, and the initiation of industry-specific strategy sessions addressing regional processing and market access challenges.

The Summit is not simply an event - it is the catalyst for ongoing, farmer-led progress across our region.

2027 Farmers Summit

Planning is already underway for the 2027 South Jersey Farmers Summit and interest from farmers, partners, and sponsors continues to grow.

Building on the measurable outcomes of prior summits, the 2027 event will expand opportunities for strategic collaboration, policy dialogue, industry breakouts, and regional economic development. As a working summit, the focus remains on action, implementation, and long-term agricultural strength in South Jersey.

Sponsorship opportunities, partnership details, and event updates will be posted here as they become available.
